Agent compliance
Education Agents need to comply with
Registration Agreements
Education agents must have formal agreements with the education providers they represent. These agreements outline the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of both parties, ensuring that agents act in the best interest of the students and maintain the integrity of the Australian education system.
Code of Conduct
Education agents are required to adhere to the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students (National Code 2018). This includes providing accurate and ethical information to prospective students, ensuring transparency in their operations, and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Regular Training and Updates
Agents must stay informed about the latest policies, regulations, and procedures related to Australian education and immigration. Education providers are responsible for ensuring their agents are regularly trained and updated on relevant changes to maintain compliance and provide accurate advice to students.
Monitoring and Reporting
Education providers are required to monitor the performance and activities of their agents. This includes conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. Providers must report any misconduct or non-compliance by their agents to the appropriate regulatory bodies
Student Protection and Support
Agents must prioritise the welfare and rights of students, ensuring that they are fully informed about their study options, visa requirements, and the realities of living and studying in Australia. Agents should provide ongoing support to students throughout their application process and after their arrival in Australia.
